Mr. Dubrule's Classes - Informative Speech
STEP ONE:
You have five (5) minutes to do the following:
1. Open a word document.
2. At the top type your Name, Topic, Period, Teacher.
3. On a new line, type
Grolier Username: coronadohs Password: tbird
Gale Username: coronado Password: tbird
ABC-Clio Username: coronado11 Password: tbird11
4. Minimize document (click on minus sign in right corner)
5. Open the Internet
6. Find our Library Web page the quickest way you know.
e.g. go through EPISD to Coronado Web page, Google Coronado Library, etc.)
7. Hold your cursor over the TEACHERS tab and click on Mr. Dubrule's Classes

2. Stop and look at the projected screen - Listen and watch demonstration
3. Type your topic into the PowerSearch bar.
4. On left menu, filter by magazine, books, subject, etc. - Check the box
"Full Text"
5. Select one result - open it and read/scan through the article.
6. Find the "Source Citation" and copy and paste it into your Word Doc

3. Stop and look at the projected screen - Listen and watch demonstration 4. Search for your own topic
5. Under "Limit Search by" click on "Topic overview"
6. Select one result - open it and read/scan through the article.
7. Find the "MLA Citation" and copy and paste it into your Word Doc

1. Click EBSCOhost and enter username/password
2. Click on Points of View
3. Stop and look at the projected screen - Listen and watch demonstration
4. On left menu, limit your results by date (if you want), source type.
5. Make sure "Full Text" is checked
6. Click "Show More" to see all source types
7. Click on a result - open it and read/scan through the article
8. Find the MLA Citation and copy and paste it into your Word Doc

3. Scroll down and click on "Pro / Con Debates."
4. On left menu click on "ARCHIVE"
5. Select one of the topics of interest
6. Scroll down and locate the citation: and copy and paste it into your Word document.

1. Go to your Word Doc
2. Click FILE and "Save as"
3. Save in My Documents - in the middle
